Frank

They call him dad
They’ve been known to shake their heads at dads lame jokes
The’ve been known to ask dad for advice on life
They strive to please him
But never hesitate to tease him
They call him dad
They call him dad
They used to think dad was superman
They’d always cheer for the other team
They’d talk to dad when they had a bad day
When dad needed help they’d immediatly pray
They call him dad
They call him dad
They always got a hug before they left
They’d always hear how much dad loved them
They’d smile upon dad’s praise
Dad knew he’d move on one of these days
They call him dad
Although dad has long passed on
His loving memory still lives on
And now they begin their journey
On their own constantly learning
They think he is watching; he does
They wish to become half the person he was
Dad still watches as they move on
He stands distant but isn’t gone
He watches his wife and seeks her love
Her mind is here; her heart with him above
All remember the dad they once had
The laughing the crying the happy the sad
He did accomplish what he wanted so bad
He will always be known as…the perfect dad

Nothing More

An angel to me softly speaks
About the truth he once would seek
Light to dark; there and back
It’s God he needs; truth he lacks
And now he’s searching for a route
Hell he’s in and there’s no way out
Tears begin to fill his eyes
As he recalls his evil lies
Now this soul begins to cry
Wishing to cut these evil ties
The light within is fast asleep
Turning black and growing weak
He tells me tales of sinful bliss
As words of regret leak through his lips
Knowing this path will soon wash away
Being lost and alone is the price he’ll pay
As he leaves his light becomes dim
I realize he’s me and i am him

Kyden

Now the journey begins
A new life on this earth
His future lies with a loving mother
Fatherless since birth
His eyes are a window to his innocence
His joy is seen by the curve of his mouth
His life will forever be effected
By the father he’ll grow up without
His fathers choice of priority
Ruined his fathers chances of being a dad
Forever this will haunt his fathers memory
For his father lost the best thing he ever had
The only man this child knows as father
Is our father from above
Always taught to follow his teachings
Always surrounded by his mothers love
His mother stays up at night
Humble; as she begs the lord please
To please watch over her son
And give him everything he needs
Now the journey continues
A new life on this Earth
His future lies with a loving mother
Fatherless since birth
