College
College..
Best 4 years of your life.. well.. 13 if you are my brother. A time to kick back and just enjoy life. College students never fail to amaze me with their abilities to make the best of what they’ve got. The creativity of a avg college student far surpasses anyone else on the planet. since i’ve been in college i’ve seen a ordinary garden hose and a paper funnel turned into a last minute beer bong. ive seen an apple and a can of beer turned into an emergency weed bong… we all know most college students drink alcohol and do drugs.. but they’re creativity goes outside that box as well… i’ve seen houses turned into diving boards.. no.. they didn’t just jump off the house they made a HOME MADE extention so they could get close enough to the pool to jump, i’ve seen duct tape, a broom stick and a sink turned into the best kitchen baseball game you’ve ever seen. i’ve seen 14 people get into a normal size SUV so they could save money on gas for a 30 min trip. Whatever it may be.. whether its 7 tv’s being ”rewired” taking up a lot of time, 50 dollars worth of wires, cables and electrical tape so they could play the biggest game of Halo you’ve ever seen. All the way to traveling 45 min out of their way to take a tarp off a feild at 3 am so the rain would flood the opposing teams feild.. giving them the day off. College students are the best at what they do. I’ve composed a list of the pro’s and con’s of being a college student.. if you can think of anymore please feel free to comment..
1. Being a student-athlete
Pro: lets face it. student athletes get the most girls. you can argue that all day but you can’t argue they throw the best party’s. being a student athlete is your ticket to many things. aside from getting college paid for, getting the most girls, and throwing the best, we’ll call them, “social events” student athletes are on a love/hate relationship with teachers. when i first got to college my team had a list of each class you could take. the list described which teachers were fair which ones were rude and which ones gave you an A cause you were a baseball player. the benifits of being a student athlete are sometimes un-real.
Con: Being an athlete requires a lot of sacrafice. with such rewards as i’ve listed you also get the other end. trying to balance a scheldule of school, practice, church, studying, lifting and sometimes even work can really take its toll on a kid. not to even mention if you have a girl friend or not..its hard work to keep everything up to par and its not easy to please everyone. also, sometimes the only history teacher available got cut from his high school team and is looking to vow revenge on every athlete that comes into his class. that sucks cause thats the class you need to pass to be eligible.. the no caring prick always seems to have a pop quiz when you’re gone for a game.
Advice: have a schedule. try to balance everything. have times sorted out so you know when you need to be where and what you need to be doing. sit down every sunday night and mark the things you HAVE to do that week.. pretty soon it will become habbit.. and the stress of rememebering things will disappear. As for the teacher.. the best thing you can do is follow the list of good teachers.. but if all else fails. do your best to impress him early. hand in your essay early, have it in a binder, laminated.. impressing him early will allow you to get a break later.
2. living on your own
Pro: Living on your own is FANTASTIC.. no curfew, no one to tell you to clean up. you can make your own rules and do all the things you said you would do different all the years you lived with your parents. you are your own king.. you only answer to yourself and FINALLY you have that long awaited freeedom you’ve been waiting for.
Con: all that B.S. i just listed that every freshmen believes dies out in a week. Responsibility starts to set in. Although you don’t have a curfew MOST of the time you’re in at a resonable time anyway. When your roommate doesn’t clean up after themselves it makes you so mad they are such a slob. And.. as much as you hate it.. all the things you said you’d do different becomes a part of your life. you start to act and talk just like your parents. you try to fight it but the more you fight it the more you realize you are just a mini version of your mom or dad.
Advice: just wear it.. don’t worry.. it happens to all of us. You can try to fight it and rebel.. but you’ll eventually go back to everything you’ve been taught.. the more you are away from your home.. the more you start to take what you’ve learned from home and apply it in your life.. i know it sucks.. mom and dad were right.. but i promise their isn’t much you can do..
3. Party’s
Pro: Girl athletes.. mmmm.. there is nothing better than a hot female athlete all dressed up sexy for a party.. ahh screw it, even if they don’t play sports you still have the female groupies. They are the girls who just hang around the athletes due to which season it is (EX: fall they hang around football. winter, basketball etc.) If the female athlete you are trying to impress doesn’t show or isn’t interested (if in season) groupies are a great fall back in the make out department.
Con: Girl athletes.. and by that i mean softball players. don’t get me wrong a girl who can throw or hit is sexy but lets not lie to ourselves. 90% of college softball players are dikes.. i’m not talking about lesbians.. cause lesbians are cool.. dikes are butch hair cutting, body building, man hating dikes.. nothing can ruin your game like a dike.. cause girls listen to other girls.. and while your trying to talk to the hot full back on the soccer team the dike takes her into a bathroom and tells her how you are going to treat her bad and take all of her rights away..
Advice: when planning a party make sure the whole school knows.. get as many people there as possible. then, the day of the party call the head dike (most of the time she’s the catcher) and let her know you are going to a club instead. dikes hate clubs and won’t go to see if you show.. have the party as planned.. dike free.
I’m sure there is many more things to college.. these are only 3 i came up with.. i’ll probably post more. and if you have any feel free to share. as for now.. its 11:00 and its time for bed.. told ya your parents rub off (damn it!)
